PhotoHunt theme : Morning /Fairs

Teochew Festival 2014 is organised in conjunction with the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan's grand 85th anniversary celebrations.

Together with some friends, we visited the fair this morning. There were many senior citizens, most of them came with their families.

I met some relatives and friends at the fair. I was glad to practise speaking my dialect with some of the vendors from Swatow.  haha....

We were fascinated with the intricate and beautiful Teochew embroidery and wood carving. There were demonstrations of teapot and lantern making.

My friends shopped for some Teochew food like Swatow pickled vegetables, peanut candy, tau sar piah, fish maw and tea leaves.

We watched a gongfu tea demonstration and were offered a small cup of fragrant pu er.

We had a rest by the stage and watched a Teochew opera performance.
