Sapulidi Cafe & Resort, Eating in the Rice Fields - PH

PhotoHunt theme :Hard-to-find

Eating in the rice fields in a pavilion

20 minutes drive from the hub of Bandung (Indonesia), there is this unique resort which I am planning to stay on my next trip. Built on the lush slopes of a mountain, guests experience life in the middle of green rice fields.

23 bungalows are scattered all over the 6-hectare resort. Each bungalow represents a traditional house from different provinces in Indonesia and offers unique Indonesian exterior and interior decor.

The Presidential suite - by itself on an island in the middle of the Lake

I'm particularly smitten with The Presidential Suite. Built on an island in the middle of Sapulidi Lake, this room has a private swimming pool, gorgeous lake view and ..... ta-da!!!

Your very own personal boatman at your beck and call 24 hours!

It's in the middle of the lake, there is no other way of getting out of your Presidential Suite unless you take the boat. :D Best pick for honeymoon couple or for a special anniversary.

Food and beverages can be arranged to be sent to you if you are too lazy to get out of the room. Cool, right?

The interior of a Junior Room

Guests can choose to dine in the restaurant's coffee house or they can pick from several pavilions built in the middle of the rice fields. You sit on wooden floors with cushions scattered around. The greenery is pleasant on the eyes and it is quite breezy.

I'm not commenting on the food as I only ordered a dessert and a soft drink.

Call for service..... tok tok tok!

I was at the resort for tea. My Indonesian students insisted that I must see this place. Before sending me off to the airport, we stopped by this resort and I fell in love with it. As it was a short visit, I didn't take many photos.

My Indonesian godson's brother-in-law stayed here for his honeymoon and remarked that it was scary and boring at night because it was too quiet and there was nothing else to do.

That's all the more reason couples should stay here for a lusty romantic holiday!

No football channels!! YEAH!!!

  7. @ECL,
That's a great idea. We can wait when AirAsia comes up with low (or 0) fares. :)

But I think Zaini and Raimie will be quite resistant going anywhere other than Japan! LOL

That's great! I would love to have a holiday together with your family.

Bandung has good food and great shopping. We can visit a volcano and dip in a hot spring. Lots of fun things to do... plus it's so much cheaper than Japan. :P

  16. Annie,
Hi-5! Looks like both of us are not football fans and prefer to spend time cuddling rather than watch a bunch of men running after a ball. :P

  17. ewok,
It is luxurious to the locals but the room rates are reasonable for us tourists.

  21. This is truly wonderful. It is like being transported to paradise. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful collection of pictures.

If you have problems uploading photos/pictures, etc ... look for your snippit tool. It is often represented by a pair of scissors and is stored in your programs. Pull your picture onto full screen view - click your snippit tool - draw a box around the area you wish to use for a picture then save it onto your desktop - it uploads from their quite easily.

Mail me if you would like more details.

The bed looks very tempting especially because I am now quite tired. They have forecast more snow tonight - I hope that they are wrong - it's too early for such bad weather! ;)

  25. This looks like a great place to stay! I would have to splurge and stay in the presidential suite. It would be an awesome vacation. I like the idea of silence at night, which is something we don't get a lot of in the city. Oh, and I would make sure I went there after football season :)
