Two months ago, I was in Jakarta for the weekend and had the honour to be invited to Golkar Party's youth wing, AMPI’s (Angkatan Muda Pembaharuan Indonesia) gala celebration of its 32nd anniversary, which was also attended by many respected guests and members from the AMPI family.
After a buffet spread consisting a variety of traditional Indonesian dishes, we were treated to an energetic performance where members proudly displayed their passion for their organisation through songs and dances.
The day before, I was an observer at AMPI’s first national workshop held at the Golkar Political Party Secretariat Office where representatives from all over Indonesia gathered to learn and share their views on the system.
It was an eye opening experience. I've always been fascinated by Indonesia's rich history and culture, through these events, I gained firsthand insights on how our neighbours carry out their youth movement and promote business along side the political community.
