eastcoastlife at F1 Race - WS #33

My family and students formed a team to take part in a F1 Race. It was one of the events at Mountbatten Community Centre's Open House. I laughed when I saw the race karts.


In the Grassroot Category, 6 teams consisting of 4 racers from various grassroot organisations participated in the F1 Race. My son Jaymes raced twice. Once to determine the team's position at the starting point and he was also the 4th racer in the team. He went 3 1/2 laps round the circuit.

We had great fun! The kids took turns to race two laps each and tried their best. After the 2nd racer, we had to top up a 2-litre bottle with water. It was a nerve-wrecking moment as we had to race against time.

We came in 4th. :( The kids were disappointed but they enjoyed themselves. Jaymes suddenly fell sick after the event. He turned breathless and there was numbness in his limbs, so we had to send him home.

My kids were complaining of thirst so I went to buy drinks. I could only buy S$2 coupons to exchange for drinks as the drink stall didn't accept cash. I bought 5 tickets and was grumbling about having to pay S$2 for a can of drink.

After sending Jaymes and the kids back, we returned to the Community Centre because Chris had to brief the VIP on some matters. We arrived just in time for the Lucky Draw. What do you know! I won two prizes! What a lucky day! :D

    It was fun. Should have jio you to participate.

    Jaymes slept for the rest of the day. He's feeling much better and tomorrow we need to visit the hospital for another test. :(
