Photo Hunters - Hair

I had my hair done up beautifully in a shop in China after buying the hairclip.

I choose to tell a true story on Hair today for my Photo Hunt. My Hong Kong journalist friend, Wing was doing a feature on Famous Tortures of the Chinese a few years ago, this is one of his discoveries which he told me .

In the olden days, when the wardens wanted the inmates to talk or confess, they would cut portions of their hair, mixed them with water and forced the inmates to drink.

The hair didn't pass out through the body easily. It would stay in the intestines as foreign particles, causing excrutiating pain to the victims. The hair would get entangled and knotted in their stomachs. Waste accumulated and their tummies became bloated. Eventually some of them would die. They suffered a painful, torturing death.

In the 1950s to 60s, it was rumoured this form of torture was used on some prisoners in Hong Kong. We wonder how true, but this is a painful way to die.
