Eat and Shop in Skudai, Johor Bahru - WW

After our breakfast, we drove to Skudai to look for the famous rootbeer restaurant and pig blood curds :P

We arrived at Sutera Mall where a friend had told me there was a famous rootbeer restaurant. There isn't any. -_-

We were window shopping when we were attracted to the aroma of dumplings cooking. We followed the fragrant aroma and chanced upon a dumpling making competition. The ladies who participated are clearly dumplings experts. The judges had a hard time naming the winners :D

The two gentlemen accompanied me to the supermarket next to get some groceries.

Feeling thirsty and tired, we walked into a dessert shop and tried some refreshing mango desserts. Happy with my choice of a salted lime juice instead of an overly sweet beverage  :)

After the shopping and desserts at Sutera Mall, we asked for help from several kind sales staff who gave us clear directions to a great yong tau hu shop on Jalan Pahlawan in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah.

Our friend had wanted to eat pig blood curds but they were sold out by the time we reached the eatery.

We each selected our favourite yong tau hu and passed them to the service staff to cook. Our jaws dropped when a waitress served them in giant bowls! The fish paste and vegetables were fresh. The soup was fabulous. The Ipoh kway teow was smooth and tasty. We can choose to have it in soup or dry version.

Our delicious meal with drinks cost RM35.
