PhotoHunt theme : Jiffy/ Flowers

A group of us dropped by Bollywood Veggies farm for lunch after a morning tour of the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Located at the tranquil Kranji Countryside, Bollywood Veggies is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

couldn't help laughing at the sometimes zany notices!

After lunch, we did a quick tour of the ten acre farm. The wide range of fruits, trees and vegetables is well labelled. The young people in our group not only learnt to identify the various fruits and plants, they had fun posing besides unusual or weird plants. It was a very hot day so we did not stay long.

Saw these Jiffy peat pellets in a gardening shed. Easy and convenient for people who do not have "green fingers". Just add water to the seeds and watch them grow. :)

Enrich your knowledge of what an Asian garden entails. :)

On our way out, we saw a small stand where visitors could buy banana bread, dehydrated fruit, organic vegetables and pots of herbs.

There is an admission fee of $2 per head to the farm, but we need not pay because we dined at the bistro.

You should consider driving here or taking the Kranji Countryside shuttle bus which goes to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve too.

    1. No piped Bollywood movie music. Nobody could hear it because it would be drown by the children's laughter. Yes, the young children love this place and there is a children's activity corner too.

  12. I have been to a few local farmers' markets in Australia and China, and I saw many produce which are unique to what we have in Singapore. I enjoy visiting those markets. The peat pellets are easy to use.
