Ubud, Haven for Weary City Folks - PhotoHunt

PhotoHunt theme : Yellow/Haven

farmers working on a  padi field next to my holiday villa

We knew Ubud (Bali) was a beautiful place from the website, but it is far more beautiful than anything the website could show! Ubud is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. What a haven for weary city folks. We enjoyed our 4-day vacation immensely.

Because we waited until the last minute to plan this trip, we almost had to camp out after dinner but fortunately for us, there was a tiny villa left in Anini Raka Resort and Spa. It was built right in the middle of padi fields!

Our tiny villa

On a breezy evening, we enjoyed sipping our cocktails in a pavilion overlooking the padi fields, watching the sun glowing a bright yellow before it set behind a tall mountain.

The breathtakingly beautiful Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati

Singapore City can easily become a bubble if you let it. Sometimes it takes a good road trip to remind you that there's life outside the city ..... and nature at that!
