Eastcoastlife at a Street Party - WS

A convoy of 20 Harley bikes paraded through the street

I attended a street party held on 27th December 2008 at Old Airport Road. It was to commemorate the reopening of a stretch of road that was sealed off from March 2006 for the building of the MRT Circle Line's Dakota station. My hubby was one of the grassroot leaders organising this event.

Fire eaters

Residents living around Old Airport Road have to live with the inconveniences of the road's closure and tolerate the noise and dust from the construction.

A resident took part in a Reuse, Reduce, Recycle contest....

The road will be official opened to traffic on 30th December 2008 at 5 am.

  2. Lina,
haha.... I'm sure it's not easy to find a discarded Merc. Nobody would mind a recycled one though.

I was there to support my hubby. There was a huge crowd and it was hot. I didn't stay long as I had foreign guests in town.

  13. oceanskies,
Many residents and motorists are glad that the road is reopening. It was inconvenient and unhealthy with the road closure and the pollution from the construction.
