Korean Pop Night 2008 in Singapore - PhotoHunt

PhotoHunt theme - Together

On 4th November, I was invited by LG to Korean Pop Night 2008.

The Government of the Republic of Korea and its Embassy hosted a K-POP extravaganza featuring popular pop-stars and budding talents from Korea in a cultural outreach campaign to youths, students and Korean Wave (Hallyu) fans in Singapore.

Thousands of Singaporeans and Koreans (working and studying in Singapore) attended the concert together. The loud cheers generated by this enthusiastic crowd caused me to lose my hearing for several hours after the concert!!

9 popular Korean artistes such as the Wonder Girls, Chae Yeon, Andy (from Shinhwa), Jun Jin (from Shinhwa), V.O.S., Jewelry, U-Kiss, 2PM and Kim Jong Wook were featured at this concert. Sorry, I don't know many of them. :P

The concert is part of the Singapore Korean Festival held in Singapore, aimed to further strengthen relations, with a stronger mutual understanding of each other's culture. It is sponsored by LG Electronics Singapore and Korean Air.

This was an extremely exclusive event that many did not have the chance to attend! Tickets were not sold at regular sky-high prices. Instead, more than 5,000 tickets were given away as part of a richer Korean experience by various sponsors and partners. I was one of the lucky ones.

Some concert goers told me they bought their tickets at eBay or from forums. One pair cost S$200! Gosh. The tickets were free!

LG is very aggressive in its marketing and promotion of its products. Their products are just as good and economical.

  7. The concert seems fun.

EastCoastLife, so do you understand the Korean lyrics too? Just want to ask whether you are well-versed in Korean too? If you understand what is being sung in Korean as well, it will be doubly the fun!
