I've been following this contest through your blog. I didn't know they could take breaks. LOL! I was actually wondering about this the other night. Now I know :)
within 5 minutes, a man could enter into a tigers' den and be killed, so sorry, ECL, I feel so traumatised by the poor man being killed in our zoo.
coming back to your topic, i believe there might be some health risks, the question is whether the participants think its worthwhile to trade their endurance limit with their body physical limit.
Wah!! Woman!! You went everyday for this Subaru event arh? *gulpz* I've said it previously, I'll say it again. No car......never mind for me! It's pure agony to withstand that!
What happens if a contestant comes down with a severe stomach ache halfway into the contest and needs to go to the toilet intermittently. Will the contestant be disqualified?
will their life be ruined? well, I think people would go to any extend when it comes to money and will even put health aside. it's funny though to see them rushing here and there and to get ready again for the challenge. If only they could give out a few Subaru's. they all deserve it, dont you think?
exclusive shots are the best thing in the world whew i cant imagine being one of those people just the mere thought of a 5 minute comfort room break scares me hehehe :) I like my moments to be enjoyed peacefully hehehe :)
Wow, 5 whole minutes? They could have taken a nap as well! lol
But honestly, I don't think the car is worth my kidneys (figuratively speaking, of course). I got this lingering feeling that the contestants are there to prove a point, to themselves that is.
No don't think their health will be ruined for that few days. But if they do this long term, say over a month, then their health will definitely suffer. Me? I won't do this challenge for a car which loses its value as soon as we drive it! Maybe if the prize is 1 million USD or a large bungalow or something more worthwhile, then maybe...
Oh its photo hunt day already? Nice take on the theme. Happy weekend.

ReplyDeleteNo lah. Health wont be ruined. Just a few days only.
ReplyDeleteMost of them dropped out so quickly. :-p
photo cache,
ReplyDeletehaha.... yes. Very busy with work.... I had to post early.
Mrs G,
ReplyDeleteOf course they could take breaks. Only 5 minutes every 6 hours. 4 breaks a day. :(
It's a mad rush whenever it's break time.
keropok man,
ReplyDeleteHey, how's your overseas trip? Glad you're back.
Only a few days but it's enough to do some damage. I would probably not last an hour.
I'm so glad they got breaks! And a massage.
ReplyDeletei am laughing while looking at these photos. i can imagine how excited they were before the clock clicks six hours!
ReplyDeleteGran,
ReplyDeleteYeah... every 6 hours, and the breaks are so short!
the dong,
ReplyDeleteOh yes!
There were 10 teams and each team has to wait for their turn so as not to crowd the toilets. It takes almost an hour to complete the whole lot.
So you can imagine how excruciating the wait was for the last team. :P

singaporeshortstories,
ReplyDeletePoor guy. I read about it too.
Some people just don't know the risks and their limits. Is the prize all that they see?
I need more than 5 minutes for my toilet break! :D

Aiks.. sorry forgot to subscribe to comments... go to comment again..lolx
ReplyDelete5 minutes I can't even got the time to walk to the toilet let alone finish my business.
ReplyDeleteECL,
ReplyDeleteI think I poo poo also need more than 5 mins! hahaha!
But I think it's quite challenging..I like!:)
It's sure is challenging! And the winner must be one happy Subaru winner:) I just hope his health wasn't that ruined!
ReplyDeletethe breaks are too short. i think i'll fail miserably in this challenge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of sacrifice. You have a good eye for news!

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ECL! :D

ReplyDeleteThey acted fast in 5 minutes... Good job...
ReplyDeleteOnly 5 minutes? I would never make it at all. Sheesh some times it takes me 5 minutes just to get the door open!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so lazy this weekend. I didn't do SWF and I am not doing PH either.
Tammy sent me new pictures of the kids and I posted them and decided to a wee break.
Lazy, lazy lazy...and I am loving it.
A long hot shower, a facial, a long long nap and just blog hopping.
You did great on the theme ECL.
Happy weekend:-)))
Ha ha ha ... OK, the answer is no and no.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to do it in 5 minutes and I don't think that will ruin their health in the long run. Human body is one fine piece of work!
5 minutes break? I can't even even finish logging onto the Internet, read a post from ECL, and drop a comment ... pfffttt.
I admire the participants' strength of minds and bodies.
ReplyDeleteI am with Rachel here,I do too admire them!!
ReplyDeleteOf cos ruined. But young ppl think little abt health because of a car.. Sigh..
ReplyDeleteArhhh~~so this is how they did it. Of course their health would somehow affected.
ReplyDeletewhether some day, this type of contest will degenerate into "foreign brides" as the prize...
ReplyDeletefor the longest duration, the one remaining standing champion (uncle type) will be the one who placed the longest on the woman's....erm....nvm
gee wow..this is crazy but hey, the prize seems worth it:) i admire the tenacity of the winner:) my PH is up too.
