eastcoastlife: I miss the bumboats that weren't operated by electricity.
Perhaps it is due to the fact that I would visit the Singapore River every now and then especially when I was feeling down or lost in the past, and the bumboats simply make the river a little interesting to look at.
I remember dancing in that fountain late at night very drunk one night. Fun times and very wet. Not so good in a cold climate, but in Singapore, perfect.
The first pic reminds me of my nephew. He likes to play with this water fountain everytime he goes to Bugis. (It is in Bugis right? I couldn't quite remember.)
hey! I was at Central last night! I was in my usu tee n shorts and of course, I felt completely out of place among the crowd dressed in office or party attire. But I don't really care. Haha. The night view of the river from Billy Bombers Al Afresco seating (we had the best table according to the waiter) was stunning.
colin, Whoa!! What fun! I do see some adults and tourists cooling themselves in the fountains. It's supposed to be that way. It's just that many Singaporeans are law-abiding and also shy. They wouldn't think of doing that in the public although it's going to be fun. :)
sho, It's common for Singaporeans to be in tees and shorts. The weather's so hot! I think many young people would prefer to discard their cumbersome clothes if they will not be fined. hehe....
ahhhh.... I'll try to get the table at Billy Bombers too when I'm there the next time. :)
I hope you enjoyed the canollis, it just will not get better than that. We have a water fountain down town West Palm Beach that the kids go to play in.
horsoon, What were you doing at Clark Quay? Work or a night out? :)
Many foreigners at Clark Quay love to jump into the river for a dip.... it can be very hot and humid in Singapore.
There are guys competing against each other to see who can swim the fastest to and from the width of the river after a few drinks. Crazy but fun-loving people. hehe....
Now I see the water fountains which kids light to play in the day. Do they light be at night? The ones I saw in Taiwan have multi color lights at night.
eastcoastlife, Hi, I am coolingstar9, thanks for friendship. The weather is really warm nowadays, all are happy when the rain come. Clark Quak, I had not been there for sometimes, hope can visit again. Your photos are wonderful. Wish you have a nice weekend.
