Colour-blind Director Yasmin Ahmad - WW

eastcoastlife with Award Winning Film Director,Yasmin Ahmad

I didn't know who Yasmin Ahmad was initially, when I received an exclusive invitation by Ogilvy & Mather to meet her. I was in awe after I google her name. Wow! An award winning film director! I have to meet her.

Singapore's Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) has commissioned Yasmin Ahmad to direct a television commercial for its Family campaign. From 21st June 2008, the short film will be shown on our television screens.

The standard style of TV commercials promotes government campaigns in a traditional and mostly predictable way, the new Family TVC hopes to leave a deep impression on viewers with its engaging and emotive storyline. Instead of painting a rosy picture of a perfect family, this TVC seeks to touch the viewers deep inside.

We were shown a few of Yasmin Ahmad's past commercials and after watching them, it leaves a warm and fuzzy feeling in our hearts. Her works show great humanity, reaching out and stirring people's deepest emotions.

Yasmin has been in the advertising industry for 25 years. In Asia, for a Malay woman to be so successful in this industry, it truly takes a lot of talent, hard work and sheer tenacity. Optimistic and cheerful Yasmin said, "the thicker the mud, the more beautiful the lotus grows" I salute this lady!

You've got to watch this!
Tan Hong Ming In Love....

Tan Hong Ming ........ This little guy is so powerful on screen!!!!
