Things to do in a red-light district - Photohunt

My good blogger sister oceanskies insisted on buying me a birthday meal. As she's taking the day off today, I offered to show her the sights in Geylang (Singapore's famous red-light district) and Katong.

durians waiting to be picked up .... *drools*

What!? Why a red-light district?

Because it happens to be an interesting place....., it's not exclusively for guys but for the family as well. There are lots of good food, great buys and good bargains to be found.

I showed her the largest wholesaler of cooking ingredients to restaurants and hotels in Singapore. Where to buy the crispiest roast pork and yummy roast duck.....

.... Fortune Temple where you can have your luck changed..... Or pray for a good life partner because it also houses the Chinese Matchmaker God (月下老人). ^-^

Wow! Weath and Love!!

It was a very hot day, so we had a bowl of Shanxi 'cool noodles' and desserts. oceanskies was having a cough so she had a bowl of bitter-tasting herbal tea and I had a bowl of nourishing chestnut and sago .

Oops... if you come here thinking I was going to recommend you naughty stuff.... sorry. Would you like a cooling herbal tea? hehehe........

  1. Argh! Durians... can you don't do that to me? Whatever that is being sold here (in London) has already lost their scent after that long flight.

Hmm... the red light district. Some of my female friends seems to get a kick walking through the area after dark. I have no idea why though...

  2. ck,
I can't help not posting the durians. Can you see how fresh and yummy they look? hehehe.....

Alamak! Your female friends must love knowing their worth... because the men in that area like to ask,"How much?" and then proceed to give a price.

    I'm a even worth a D24. cheh!

  16. What a lovely time you showed to your friend! How funny that it's called the Red Light District.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Natalie,
It is a well-known red light district in Singapore. Many hookers from neighbouring countries and China come here to 'work' and many are working illegally.

Google 'Geylang' and you will know why. hehe....
