Photo Hunt - Living the High Life in Singapore

Photo Hunt - High

A luxury mega yacht berthed at °15 Marina Club

Imagine a home with championship golf courses in your backyard and
a marina at your doorstep......... own a oceanfront luxury bungalow at Sentosa Cove!

Just a stone's throw away from your front lawn, enjoy high living on the high seas as the world-class °15 Marina Club’s 204 berths are designed to house mega yachts in sheltered waters. The $80 million club is poised to become the Monte Carlo of the East.

*daydreams*

A wealthy client bought a house in Sentosa Cove and a luxury yacht. He invited us to dinner on his newly acquired toy. Envy was written all over my face.

Singapore Airlines first-class passengers receive Salvatore Ferragamo (His or Hers) toiletries and Givenchy pajamas.

He flies first-class on Singapore Airlines to Europe and saved his toiletry pouch to give to me. He also asked for a toiletry pouch for Ladies and many packets of high end tea bags for me. So sweet hor.

Tell myself after oooh-ings and aah-ings at his high end items : My feet must be firmly planted on the ground. *ties bricks to my feet*

In a time of affluence, 'keeping up with the Joneses' is going to create problems. Living within my means is not enough because it means I will spend what I earn. I have to live a lifestyle below my means instead.

Is it the high cost of living or the cost of high living that is leaving people breathless?'

You will Reap What You Sow.

  10. The lower-income are certainly feeling the pressure and the pinch. I know of some folks with very low-income, but as they live within their means, they has almost no debts.... of course, I am aware of people with high incomes, high debts.

I suppose you may be very right to live below your means. It can be quite pressurising to be just living within one's means.

  11. mariuca,
Don't envy me, I'm a simple person, I don't like to go to posh places. I hate to put on make-up and dress up.

Well... people do have good intentions when they give me gifts... so I will accept with a smile. :)

  15. liza,
Hope the young people would keep this in mind: what they borrow, they have to return.... sometimes it could be more than what they borrowed.

Every one wants a better life, one shouldn't chase after material things.

    ReplyDelete
  16. oceanskies,
Everyone around me is feeling the hard times.... me too. I don't spend on branded or unnecessary items, yet it is getting harder and harder to cope with the rising costs.

There are more elderly folks going through garbage bins, or picking rotting vegetables or fruits in the market every day.

Prices of basic items are rising more than 20% and even up to 100%... yet salaries are not going anywhere near that.

  20. Wah! Living high life is mostly everyone's dreams! How I wish I could too!

Nevermind, will be like you, work towards that kind of life and wont hope it drop from sky.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I could get used to that, lol.
    Happy PH!!

  22. I live within my means and richness do not impress me. Richness gained from years of hard work gains my respect (my dad has many a friends like that) and to date, they are very humble people still living as if they money is hard to come by.

The younger generation who inherited the money are snobbish, proud and most spend the money too quickly.

I teach my children to live within their means. I can teach but will they listen is another thing. I must admit, I do spoil them. We never use credit cards to buy things if the cash is not in the bank to pay the card when the bill comes.

I believe you are a very astute woman yourself!

  23. Yep, thats a very good point.

Nice entry for this week's theme!

You must be honored to be invited onboard over to his high class yacht for dinner. Showered with gifts too. How nice.

I have my high hunt up early as I'm going out with some ladies from Ipoh tomorrow (my Saturday). Nothing high class. Just high altitude and high air!

Flying first class of SIA would be a pious hope for me....not to mention owning a luxury yatch.

Must work harder, and harder and save more and more.....sigh

    ReplyDelete
  35. Good work - and next time make sure you fly first class as well!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. ***staring closely at the pajamas*** you do not need this right??

Well, I would say that the cost of living has doubled since last year. You can't really get many things with what you earn nowadays.

I missed the boat trip!! The last time I went on a "$2m White Rabbit" to Langkawi with my friends. It was real fun. Luckily it was an invitation as the fuel alone costs 4-figures. **sweat**

  37. great photo for the theme!!! ..

  38. Just i'd like for my vacation! Ha! Ha! High comfortable places!
    Have a beautiful day!

    ReplyDelete
  39. ahh, the high life. I sometimes (most of the time really!) envy these people, with all the luxury at their disposal. if I was there with you in that yacht I would have drooled!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think that trying to keep up with the Joneses can make quite the dent on one's wallet or purse without making one all that happy. So my suggestion is to try not to do and, instead, do your own thang that gives you pleasure -- and often times, you'll find that that really doesn't cost so much! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. hello eastcoastife...nice interpretation of the team

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've never flown first class anywhere. I didn't know I'd get pajamas!!

    ReplyDelete

  60. Living cost in Singapore is indeed very high! In order to survive a "high" life like that, I wonder how much one needs to earn per month...

    ReplyDelete
