  2. I have to put up my Wednesday post early as I would be busy these 2 days. Because today is Mid-Autumn Festival also known as Lantern Festival and Mooncake Festival. It's also the 18th birthday of a niece. So I have dinners and functions to attend.

The photos show the various birthday cake designs that a local Singaporean baker created.

I ordered the Sushi Cake for my niece Jing Jing. She was very delighted with it and we had fun posing for pictures with it.

It has a Chocolate Blueberry cake base. The 'sashimi' was gelatine. The pair of chopsticks were biscuits.

I didn't know cakes go well with seaweed. Try it yourself, it's yummy!

  17. Wow. Absolutely fantastic.
    Sushi cake.....

Here in the UK, anyone caught associating 'fish' with 'cake' would be avoided in public. :) We're too sweet-toothed. (As all our dentists tell us). Too Americanised.

Last year I had some Mooncakes from Singapore - they were great. :)

  25. My theme today is the OzAsia Festival in Adelaide for a fortnight. Last night they had a fantastic lantern parade under a full moon with kids and their creations.

I can remember seeing similar cakes when I lived in Singapore. I think I would prefer the Sushi itself however.

  38. I will settle for Hagen Daz Ice cream cake ....

Ice cream cake will sure make me fatter..and kena RT-IPPT etc..whatever the Army can think of any more T...but well worth it.

It's just that normal cakes are too much of a full fat, that I don't wanna die of Cholesterol Buildup, rather die of having too much sugar.

Come to think of it..must be yr birthday huh???
