Photo Hunters - Steps

Jaymes' baby steps ... hehehe....

Many of my friends lament that due to work, they did not get to see their little darlings take their first baby steps.

When my son, Jaymes took his first baby steps, I was at home to see it. It was a Sunday morning, I had just given him a bath and dressed him. After I had hung his towel up to dry, I turned round just in time to see him let go of his hold on a chair, wobbling as he started walking towards me!

He walked about 5 steps before falling on his chubby butt, and started wailing. I was so proud of his progress, I scooped him up and planted his chubby cheeks with kisses....

  11. Thanks for coming over. Mine started walking at 16 months which is a little slow so we were unduly worried. Wheen finally he made it we were so relieved hahaha. Now with him all over the place, perhaps he shouldnt have learned to walk after all hahahahah

  17. What a sweet picture.
I had a hard time figuring out exactly when Nyssa's first steps were. She took a few and decided that it wasn't advantageous to walk for another few weeks. That was OK, she was young and it would be hard keeping an eye on her ALL the time.

  20. cool insider,
Yes, Chris and I treasure every moment we have with our family members. We used to take pictures of Jaymes EVERY DAY! hehehe... Then the enthusiasm died down.

Jaymes is a great kid, not much of a problem, we have it very easy actually. He is honest and gentle, like his Dad. Charming, like his Mom. haha....

  21. bengbeng,
I can understand what it is like. Jaymes started walking after 16 months too! And after that, it became very tiring for the adults because we were chasing him all over the place! hahaha....

  25. srp dear,
haha...kids are pretty smart, aren't they? They would rather be carried than walk on their own sometimes.

But I shouldn't complain then, I miss carrying Jaymes and of course it's impossible to do so now. :)

hard keeping an eye on her ALL the time.
I agree on this with my Jaymes. haha...

  28. It is truly a wonderful experience to witness your child's first step. It brings joy to your soul and you feel as if you are part of thier journey here. Then you go about and live your life. But, continue to be there for every first step you can witness, the first time they say your name, the first time they hold on to your hand, the first time they need comfort, the first love of thier life. These are steps also, and they make the circle complete. I know you are part of Jaymes circle.

  30. Hi Teacher Dave!
The best role that a person could ever have - to be a parent.

I'm a proud Mommy, not only to Jaymes but to the students in my care and the young men and women who needs a mother-figure in their life. I might not be the perfect Mom but I share their joys and griefs.

Besides rejoicing in their physical growth, I enjoy being a part of their learning process. It feels great to be a MOM.

I never know you grow up in a place where you can feed the chicken wor.
In my opinion, that is the best place for us to grow up.

  42. yenjai,
ya... I grow up in a kampung where my grandma reared pigs, ducks, chickens; she also planted vegetables and fruit trees(for own consummation) and flowers to sell.
    I love kampung life.

I moved to an apartment when I was seven.

  43. Walau... so adorable... fell like hugging him leh.

I can't remember my kids falling. I think my wife and I were very careful... but sometimes, a fall is good. If not, they'd never learn how to pick themselves up. This is one of life'e lessons, I guess. Hee!
