In March 2006, I was diagnosed to have bunions on both my feet. I was told it's hereditary. I would have to undergo surgery to rectify it and it's not guaranteed it won't occur again.
Prior to consulting an orthopaedic & a podiatrist at SGH, I had sharp pains in my right feet & left knee. It was almost impossible to walk.
The orthopaedic recommended me to see a podiatrist. The podiatrist recommended wearing these shoes, MBT. After 5 months of wearing these shoes, it has helped tremendously.
I wore it on my China trips and I could even climb mountains then, awesome right? Now I can go shopping for hours. hehe.....
Chris has a hunched back, but when he wore the shoes, it corrects his posture.
Good things are not cheap. A pair costs around S$400. I bought 2 pairs, Chris bought a pair - it was our craziest spurgle - more than S$1000 for 3 pairs of shoes! My Dad wouldn't talk to me if he knew! :P
Wah...am I the first to comment? ;)
ReplyDeleteIs that ur house ECL? It looks so grand and luxurious! Maybe I shld go to Singapore and visit ECL at her house he he...Happy weekend dear! :)
Mariuca,
ReplyDelete1st commentator! *pat pat on the back*
Not my house lah. That's at the shopping mall in Orchard Road.
Have a wonderful weekend, Mariuca!
^-^
I was impressed by your ability to walk Geylang and Katong area with me earlier the month. I noticed you were wearing the MBT shoes. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad that it has helped you. For $400 a pair, I think it is cost-effective if it helps you walk with greater comfort, and it is a cheaper and safer alternative to surgery.
This is occupation hazard *winks*: maybe there could be a foundation to help very low-income people buy a pair of MBT shoes via instalments? Maybe it would give them a cheaper and safer alternative than to rely on Medifund or Medisave to pay for a surgery to rectify a bunion problem.
That's an expensive pair of shoes but I'm sure it's worth it since it makes walking for you more comfortable and most of all painless.
ReplyDeleteI'll come back to sign your Mr. Linky when mine is up. I'll post mine later.
wow ... that is expensive! but if it does help, then it's worth it! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, but it cures some problems, how much money also worth, right? :)
ReplyDeleteECL, very expensive shoes but if you feel comfortable and great, no amount of money can replace that :D
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you dear.
That's a lot of money for shoes, but well worth it if they help the pains in your feet and knee.
ReplyDeleteNice one,ECL! I'm looking forward for this hunt because I'm sure I can find really cool shoes! hehe Happy Weekend;)
ReplyDeletewow i never knew of such shoes :P seriously need to do a lot of reading, LOL. a shoe that even corrects posture, really an eye opener.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend !:P
I will have to remember this since it runs in my family and I have a tiny little spot but who knows!!
ReplyDeleteA comfortable pair of shoes is priceless, I am willing to pay a high price if it means I won't have sore feet.
Happy weekend and happy hunting!! sorry, George Clooney isn't available this weekend, ha!
rubber shoes rule!
ReplyDeleteVery expensive indeed, but sound like they are worth every penny!
ReplyDeleteHappy photo hunting and have a great weekend!
Those shoes, no matter what the cost, do a lot of good.
ReplyDeleteCan Chris walk in a straight line, without toppling over? Can he breathe into the analyzer without giggling?
ReplyDeleteNice shoes for treatment...Happy hunting!
ReplyDeletecool shoes. have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteWow, if they help, that is great!
ReplyDeleteBunions are very painful!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's really a magic shoes! $400 a pair is well worth it. So can you still wear heels?
ReplyDeleteQuite a price for a pair of rubber shoes ... but what is the price if it can give you comfort? Nice post! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteoceanskies,
ReplyDeleteI have been wearing those shoes for 2 years now and it has helped me to travel far and wide. :)
It is expensive and I don't know if the shop has an instalment scheme for the purchase of the shoes. I'll ask them when I visit them.
It is very comfortable. Without these shoes, I cannot walk far. :(
rachel,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's expensive but worth it. I have used it for 2 years, so it cost me S$200 for each year. :)
day-dreamer,
ReplyDeleteYes... it's worth every cent I paid. I feel miserable if I cannot go out because I like to explore the world around me. :)
mar,
ReplyDeleteYou can google and read more about these shoes.
awwww.... George Clooney probably has a long queue of ladies waiting to date him. hehe....
LB,
ReplyDeletehehehe.... what questions are these!? Are you drunk after the euphoria of Man U's win!?
gran,
ReplyDeleteYes, bunions are very painful. And many young ladies who wear high heels are eventually going to get them.
Doreen,
ReplyDeleteWell, you can say they are magic shoes. :)
I can wear heels but only for dinner parties and if I'm chauffeured. :) Plus cannot walk long distances.... just sit there and smile. hehehe....
flower vase.... er.... no. Flower pot. kakaka.....
Hi sassy mom!
ReplyDeleteLong time no see!
To me, it's worth every cent I paid. :)
I'm thankful I don't have to go for an operation and yet be able to travel far. :)
Wow, that is a lot to spend on shoes. Some celebrities probably spend that on one pair of shoes a week. *LOL*
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Happy Hunting!
If you can walk right and have issues corrected it's worth the price. Enjoy your shoes...
ReplyDeleteGood choice Eastcoastlife, I can sense the satisfaction! Wow! I myself think and feel, a good pair of shoes is closest to bare feet. The exceptions are special functions, where I love the shinny ones. As I move into the crowd, people get confused the shinningnizationness, as an aura! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that the special shoes have helped. I would think that they are worth the cost if they prevent you from needing surgery.
ReplyDelete@_@ Expensive!!
ReplyDeleteBut if it helps, it's a good buy lar.
p/s: GSS sales!! *wweeeeeee*
Magic shoes ... I´m impressed.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely well worth every cent.
Happy weekend.
Comfort is the most important thing ins shoes, ECL. No question. I'm glad they worked and saved you from the operation.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend.
crazy working mom,
ReplyDeleteI have friends who spend over S$1000 on a pair of designer shoes! Just high heels that cannot be used for walking long distances. I don't understand why they would want to spend so much.
????
wow that's an interesting pair :o)
ReplyDeleteellen b,
ReplyDeleteYes.... price is not a consideration for me now. :)
abang zubli,
ReplyDeleteShinny shoes! Wow! I can imagine..... hehe....
carver,
ReplyDeleteOh yes... I have to tell this good news to those who would otherwise have to go for an op. :)
napaboaniya,
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check if there is sales on these shoes.
Great Singapore Sales is here!!!
jmb,
ReplyDeleteI count my blessings. I'm so lucky to be discovering new things.
Look and I shall find! :)
Anything to help the feet! And you know what those shoes are cute! And expensive!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've heard about these MBT shoes, they are supposed to tone your butt and legs when you use them, right? I've heard mixed reviews so I'm hesitant to plunk down all that money. Another option is FitFlops which supposedly do the same thing but only cost $50. Maybe I'll try those...
ReplyDeleteI agree, cost is not a factor when it comes to health. And being able to climb mountains with them on Wow!
ReplyDeleteI think if they help you to be more comfortable, then it's money well spent.
ReplyDeleteWell that was interesting! And yes, it is hereditary, sadly - my mother, now me!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend. :)
The price is justified by the benefits!
ReplyDeletethese shoes r amazing. ecl, i cant imagine u having problems with yr feet at yr age..perhaps it is linked to yr fall in Penang?
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you found a pair of shoes that works for you. :)
ReplyDeleteancient one,
ReplyDeleteYou find the shoes cute? :)
bonggamom,
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice if they really tone my butt and legs. I can't tell. hehe...
indrani,
ReplyDeleteAmazing, right? I couldn't go window shopping without these shoes.... but with them I could even climb mountains! :)
Poor leslie,
ReplyDeleteYou too have the problem. :(
bengbeng,
ReplyDeleteYoung people do have feet problems too, you know. It's not linked to my fall in Penang.
I had these shoes on when I fell in G hotel. It helped to cushion my fall otherwise I would have worse injury.
I never heard of these shoes, but it's great if it helps ! Fortunately I don't have any feet problems (yet) lol !
ReplyDeleteOh, S$1,000 for 3 pairs of shoes! They are surely costly but the amount spent cannot compare with the comfort you enjoy and or correction of posture.
ReplyDeletenice one for today's theme... the movie Sx and the City changed New York to New Yorks become a big shoe store now... LOL! thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeletegreat cath for today's theme.... never heard of these shoes thanks for sharing...

ReplyDeleteThose would be worth their weight in gold if they make you comfortable!
ReplyDeleteIts really nice to wear comfy shoes...
ReplyDeleteWow, i never knew there is such shoes. I only knew about the compressing stocking.
ReplyDeletehealth has no price! Now your feet are in the best condition!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! :D
ReplyDeleteHi friend. It's been some time I never been here. Busy. Miss ya!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I want a pair of MBT too. Even though it's expensive. But, it's therapeutic. Fantastic shoes!
I like good shoes! Save my leg form disaster. hehe...
Very expensive!!!! What's that in the 神奇鞋? The sole, cushioning..or what?
ReplyDeleteMBT = Must Buy This?
LOL!
Wow...I bought a pair of MBT sandals for my stiff and painful ankles two years ago...I could not buy these shoes 'coz I had swollen ankle joints and it helps to correct my then slanting side way right foot. I had this MBT to thank for as I am now walking normally....I had a post on these shoes in my blogpost on shoes...
ReplyDeleteYour shoes still in good condition...? Mine is getting some peeling skin dropping out...
For the sandals I think I paid around RM 700 plus...but it is really worth it... as it helps in my blood circulation...as I had stiff joints due to my arthritis.
But you got to take very good care of it or else it will not last...cannot steps on wet grass or oily surface..something like that...and I sometimes wear it to those big shopping malls ....walking in these shoes is definitely a breeze...would like to know yrs make from where...Vietnam..?
Its worth the price. No matter how expensive a thing is as long as it does good things its a best buy.
ReplyDeleteit's great those shoes really a help.
