4th Day of Chinese New Year

The kids have to go back to school today. Christopher has to open for business for a few hours. I have a lunch appointment with my business associates at Baccarat Restaurant. Chris & Jaymes were invited.

We were seated at 1.30pm, the restaurant was packed. It was Chinese New Year buffet. Some of the dishes were already gone, last order was 2.15pm. First, we asked for a plate of yu-sheng.

There was a sushi & sashimi counter, but no more raw salmon. There is a Teppanyaki counter with limited ingredients like miso fish fillet, vegetables & oysters. There are two types of soup. There is a pasta counter, you can only ask for creamy white sauce & tomato sauce. Not nice, bland.

The main dishes were exciting. There are Pork Trotters in Black Vinegar, Braised Duck Wings, Szechuan Prawns ( s0 crunchy & tasty!), Roast duck, Fillet in forget-wat sauce, Mixed Fried Vegetable......

The dessert counter is oh-so interesting & appealing! Mini sized! Colourful! And .... very delicious! I love the Pumpkin custard, taste like rich kaya (coconut & egg custard). There are hot desserts in covered mugs too. There is also a chocolate fountain where you dipped cut fruits in. Jaymes took scoops of ice-cream & dipped them in the cascading chocolate fountain.

There is a wide choice of beverages too. The teh-tarik is thick & good.

We ate so much that we could not move after that, but my associates made us do a tour of SMU (Singapore Management University) which is just opposite the restaurant.

Should go early at 11am for lunch or 6.30pm for dinner, for more & better choices of food.
