Marine Parade Umbrella Art Exhibition.
PhotoHunt theme : Engage /Umbrellas
Marine Parade Umbrella Art Exhibition is in the Singapore Book of Records for the most number of hand-painted and decorated umbrellas.
1,000 umbrellas formed the art installation at the Marine Parade Community Club. The project started in mid-March with help from more than 500 Marine Parade residents and students from neighbouring schools in the area.
Very happening activities in my community. :D
Students and their parents from Japanese School Singapore (Shingapōru Nihonjin Gakkō) engaging Singaporeans during the Colours of Japan event in Marine Parade.
We watched a Mochi Tsuki (rice cake pounding) demonstration, observed the Japanese tea ceremony and made mochi with sweet paste. :)
This is a good activity for social and cultural exchanges among residents of different nationalities.
Beautiful umbrellas! Do you think they are meant to be used or just displayed?
