There is a free monthly haircut service for senior citizens aged 60 and above, in my sister-in-law's neighbourhood. When she wheeled my 96-year-old mother-in-law for the free haircut last month, I accompanied them.
The usually empty void deck resembled a mini salon with mirrors and barbers' chairs brought in. There were haircut bibs in all colours of the rainbow. :)
There were more than a hundred elderly folks in the queue but with so many hairdressers serving them, the waiting time was shortened.
The hairdressers are volunteers and they have taken half the day off to serve our pioneer citizens. Several of the volunteers have been doing this regularly for years. They are just happy to serve these residents who are just as "hair-py" to see them every month. :D
MP Chen Show Mao having his hair cut
When a volunteer offered to trim MP Chen Show Mao's hair after the event ended, he gladly obliged and had a "Hammercut". :)
That's for a good cause, thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteGreat community service. Applause for the hairstylists and volunteers.
DeleteThat is so nice! And I like how you refer to the seniors as pioneer citizens That just sounds so awesome! Perfect shots for both themes too :) Happy weekend my friend!
