After spending one morning exploring Kranji Reservoir, we were tired, thirsty and hungry.
We walked down Kranji Way (towards the industrial park) until we came to a coffee shop and had a simple lunch of mixed vegetable rice and minced pork noodles.
We bought bottles of chilled green tea at a nearby old provision shop which reminds me of my childhood days in a kampong (village).
sunset over Johor Straits
On another occasion, someone bought us dinner at this Malaysia-style zhi char place after our visit to a crocodile breeding farm.
It is a staff canteen located in a granite company.
Dinner menu :
Pork rib with water cress (排骨西洋菜汤)
Spicy Lala (香辣拉拉)
Marmite Pork Ribs (妈蜜排骨)
Claypot Braised Chicken (一 品鸡) that has chicken, sea cucumber and mushrooms.
and a very special, very delicious salted egg fried squid (咸蛋炸鱿鱼)! The squid was fresh and the batter was fluffy and crunchy.
Look out for their neon lights in the evening! Another friend recommended their crocodile soup and Chai Poh (preserved radish) fish.
Looks like you were treated to a beautiful and delicious dinner. Blessings, Catherine
