Seen on busy Orchard Road one fine weekend, these performers invited tourists to join in the fun using kitchen utensils as musical instruments. :D
PhotoHunt theme : Raindrops on window/Musical
couldn't see the road through my window due to a heavy shower
It's the rainy season in Singapore. I have to cancel a couple of outdoor events due to sudden showers.
An intense downpour on the afternoon of 30th October affected some of our areas in eastern Singapore. It was my first time seeing a flash flood in Singapore. I didn't run out to play in the waters. :D
Flash floods happen when there is an intense downpour where the rate of water coming in overwhelms the ability of it to flow out. The floods lasted for about 20 or so minutes.
Gosh, vehicles were almost submerged in water.
Today we were informed that the road will be raised about 150mm by the end of year so that cars should be able to clear the waters. Drains will be widened and deepened by first quarter of 2014.
Glad that improvements would be made soon to prevent flooding.

DeleteWow! Flooding like that is scary! We had some terrible flooding here in Toronto and in Calgary this past Summer. We are not used to it and our infrastructure can't handle it. Our climate is changing. Great pics my friend! :)
ReplyDeleteWe were not used to flooding too. But in recent years, we are having unexpected floods in different parts of Singapore. I believe it is the changing climate.
DeleteFunny musical instruments :) Floods are no fun. Can't find raindrops in my archives, too little rain around here :)
