After lunch on Tuesday (29 Oct 2013), I stopped by Ngee Ann City to check on the contestants.
70th hour of the Mediacorp Subaru Challenge, the last standing regional contestant from the Philippines was still going strong. He dropped out of the challenge seconds before the 1 pm break because he was distracted by his supporters.
For having the longest combined standing time, the Filipino team bagged the Country Team prize worth S$10,000. Congratulations to the Philippines!

72nd hour of the Mediacorp Subaru Challenge, it was then down to the final two! It was the battle between Singaporeans Yusman Wright and Sunawr Ali! Who would win? Will we have a new record this year?
Finally ..........
75 hours one minute and 23 seconds.
43-year-old real estate agent Yusman Wright wins the MediaCorp Subaru Challenge at his fifth attempt. Congratulations!!
Last year's winner, 42-year-old Singaporean Gan Yu Shen Thomas, went through a gruelling 78 hours 30 minutes face-off. It was the second longest winning time in the 11 years of the Challenge. George Lee won the 7th edition of the Subaru Challenge. His record still stands - 81 hours 32 minutes.
Yusman Wright gets to drive home a Subaru Forester 2.0i Premium worth S$85,000 without COE. All the past winners eventually sold their cars.
First runner-up Sunawr Ali took home S$5,000 cash. Congratulations!
I have no idea what that is, I only know Subaru cars, lol !
ReplyDeleteAnnual endurance challenge by Subaru. Battling harsh weather conditions (standing in the sun and rain), sleep deprivation, hunger and thirst, the contestants have to keep their right palms firmly on the palm decals on the cars. Every 6 hours, they get a 5-minute break. They can choose to have their meal, drink, get a massage or go to the toilet.
Deletegrueling competition!
ReplyDeleteyes, it it. :)
DeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteYou can do this Lina. Come register for it next year :)
DeleteWhat a fun contest indeed and to end up winning a new car. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
I don't find it fun as it is physically exhausting with the lack of sleep and food. The unpredictable weather is another reason for not being fun. LOL
DeleteI recognise him, saw him before in one of the year...
ReplyDeleteThis is his 5th attempt. He kept trying.... never give up. He deserves to win.
