PCF Family Day 2012

The annual PCF Family Day was held at the Singapore Zoo @Pavilion-by-the-Lake on 2nd September. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was the guest-of-honour at this event. He presented the PCF-Polytechnic Study Awards of S$2,000 each to 49 deserving Polytechnic students.

Every year PAP Ministers and MPs of the five districts take the lead to raise funds for the underprivileged and those with financial and special needs.

Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports and Mayor, Central Singapore District led the fundraising this year and his team's effort raised a total of more than S$660,000.

The recipients of PCF Study Awards are selected based on their household income, good academic results and involvement in community services and/or CCA. The awards aim to ease their worries over tuition fees so that they can concentrate on their studies.

Visitors to the Zoo were thrilled to see PM Lee and he was mobbed everywhere that he went! There were many requests for a photo with him and he did not disappoint.

Now they are finally moving to the beat! Minister Gan Kim Yong was challenging MP Seah Kian Peng to see who can dance better.

The PCF Family Day 2012 at the Singapore Zoo was attended by an estimated crowd of 10,000 people.

  3. That must have been a funny event when I see the pictures. When I first read the word "zoo", I thought at least you know where politicians belong ! lol !

    Yes, the recipients get a little financial assistance from this award. Most importantly, they can be assured that there will be help if they need it.

    My PM is indeed approachable and a good man who loves his country and citizens. He is mobbed everywhere that he goes. Every one wants a piece of him :D

    He is very sporting and will participate actively in all events.

    Many of our Singapore politicians in our ruling party are not hypocrites and power-starving individuals who care only to line their pockets.

    Like our PM Lee Hsien Loong, these honourable men and women love our country and desire to make life better for their fellow brothers and sisters.
