Weekend Breakfast At Riders Cafe - PH

For overseas readers who are used to seeing horses in your own country, it is rare to see a real horse in Singapore. And to own one, the owner needs to have quite a lot of money. It costs much more to own a horse in Singapore than a car!

Walk a horse

I love to go to Bukit Timah Saddle Club off Eng Neo Avenue, it provides such therapeutic charm. I feel I am in another country.

I believe many Singaporeans don't know this place. Once in a while, I would go there for weekend brunch. I enjoy watching the owners exercise their horses while I have a hearty breakfast.


Breakfast is served at an idyllic cafe in a colonial clubhouse. It was relaxing to watch the horses trotting past while you bask in fine weather and good food.

I usually order their famous fluffy home-made pancakes with berries compote and maple syrup. Chris love their Norwegian Benedict with generous slices of smoked salmon. Their breakfast is very good!

You need to make a reservation. It is full-house at all hours and many people who did not have reservations were turned away.

    It great to have breakfast in stle and no hurry. My husband and I, e are not at the stage of enjoying it. i don't know if we ever will.

    Why not? Both of you should find some time to do that.

    In New Zealand, it is easier to find horses than in Singapore. You could cook breakfast and have a picnic in the countryside.

    We have quiet a lot of horses here so my mouth waters more for the pancakes ! I love them ! The once which are prepared here are more crêpes, flat thin and round.

    Beautiful shots. In the U.S., it's very expensive to board a horse. If you live somewhere with land and a barn it's not too bad but many people with horses here have to keep them at a stable and that's very expensive. Certainly would cost a lot more than transportation with a car.

    Hi, there! I've been to Singapore only once, for 4 short days and I have enjoyed it so much that I'm planning on coming back. I'm also hoping our company would send me this year ;)

    I wish I could see horses more often in Singapore.

    I love thick, fluffy pancakes too. It's not easy to find a good restaurant that serves yummy pancakes here though.

    With the vast land area in the US, it is easier to keep a horse.

    In Singapore, the horses are kept in stables too. They probably only have a few hours a week to graze on the fields.

    Glad that you enjoy your stay in Singapore.

    There are quite a number of activities and places you can go to at night in Singapore.

    Visit Clark Quay and have a meal or a snack at some of the many eateries there. Then you can have a terrifying ride on the G-MAX reverse bungee or a relaxing cruise on the Singapore River. :P

    Enjoy South-east Asia's largest light and water laser show at Marina Bay Sands. Have a leisurely walk along the marina and take lots of photos!

    Sentosa Island is another fun place to visit at night.

    You can have 24 hour shopping at Mustaffa in Little India. Try the delicious Indian food.

    I usually go on Sunday morning before 9am. It's less crowded and some owners would be walking their horses. Ask the owner for permission before you touch the horses. Not many owners are willing to stop for visitors to play with their buddy. :P
