MegaZip Adventure Park - EastCoastLife Takes the Flight of Her Life! - PH

PhotoHunt theme : Male

My son Jaymes' platoon mates treated him to a day of fun at Sentosa Island on his birthday in October. He kept gushing about this MegaZip ride when he came home. He reminded me to take the ride when he heard that I was going to Sentosa Island for a day of fun.

Upon my arrival, I was given my wristband and introduced to Drew Graham, the Commercial Director of MegaZip Adventure Park. He personally secured the harnesses on both Chris and I and brought us for a tour round the park.

ParaJump - Are you ready to take the leap of faith?

The views are amazing at the Parajump leap point. You see the ocean, the jungle, the white sandy beaches from the top of the 15m tower before you step off a platform into thin air and land on the ground. I imagined Jaymes dropping 15m to the landing below like a boulder! hahaha.....

ClimbMax  The Ultimate Physical Challenge

ClimbMax is Singapore's premiere high rope's adventure course. 15 metre high Eucalyptus trees create a formidable course in the jungle hilltops of Sentosa. Families with young children would love this obstacle course.

S$24 / Person
Additional level available at S$15 / Person

ARE YOU READY FOR THE FLIGHT OF YOUR LIFE?

Chris didn't want to take the MegaZip ride initially. I was laughing at him while he was clinging for dear life to a dangling rope 75m above ground level at the start of the ride.

But when it was my turn, fear and a wave of panic suddenly overwhelmed me. When I saw the height, my legs turned wobbly. My throat went dry. OMG! What did I get myself into? I had second thoughts and tried to quit but Drew and his staff assured me that it was safe and that it would be an exhilarating ride.

I was almost in tears dangling in the air at 75m above ground level. At the word "Go", I was screaming my lungs out as I zipped fast and furious down from the jungle canopy of Imbiah Hill to the white sands of Fox Finish Point at a heart pounding speed of 50km/h!

The first 5 seconds was scary but after that, I began to enjoy the descend, taking in the breathtaking views. My legs were still wobbly when I landed.... but I have high levels of adrenaline coursing through my body.

This is not a male thing. I have always tried to "face my fears". Once I've conquered MegaZip, I left my fear behind. I was raring to go for another round. I understood then why Jaymes went for 3 trips. :D

The height to securely fit into one of the harnesses is 70 cm, and the maximum weight is 140 kg.

The minimum weight to travel as an individual is 30 kg. Adventurers who are less than 50 kg are recommended to travel in tandem (an arrangement of two persons placed one behind the other), as the heavier you are, the faster you go!

An individual MegaZip is S$29 per person.
The MegaZip remains open to ‘night flyers' from 7.30pm to 10pm.

  1. This sounds interesting. I would admittedly have to face my fears. I shall consider this when my state of health improves.

  4. oceanskies,
This is one awesome place where you can face your fears of heights. It truly requires courage to leap off from a tower 15m high and more when you are dangling 75m above ground level with only a rope supporting your weight.

It isn't easy to take such steps but when you do, you will feel a sense of release.... whatever burdens you have seem to be lifted off your shoulders.

I am ready to take the rides again. :D

Wishing you good health and when you are ready to try this, call me to go with you, ok?

  5. Lina,
It's very exhilarating. It's expensive but worth the price as the experience is out of this world.

There is a discount for second ride. My son took 3 rides costing S$69.

    Must try once. :D

  6. Yes, it's exhilarating and adrenaline flowing, but I just could not bring myself to the top of the Parajump leap point and leap off into thin air. I believe my legs will turn to jelly the moment I step on top of the 15m tower. I am not ready for the flight of my life!

  10. We have an amusement park here about an hour drive. Nothing like Disney land or world. I believe it $30 to get in gate and that includes all the rides.
The food and games are extra.

    Coffee is on.

  13. That is a quite fun but dangerous. I did jump for life when i was in college. In the group of more than 200 i am the first female who tried to jump without any rope just hold tight to the rope with wood. The girl next to me almost died and fall to the ground. What an experience. But i enjoyed it. I tried that on top of the water and land.
