Itching for Justice, Son was Assaulted - PH

PhotoHunt theme :Itchy

After trying the latest HP products at its launch recently, my son is itching to own them. I will definitely buy them for him when he gets well again.

It's been an exhausting and sorrowful day for me. For years my son has been abused by his teachers throughout his schooling years. I had not kicked up a fuss because my son begged me not to. I thought it was only verbal abuse, today I found out he was assaulted. I thought schools were supposed to be safe for our kids.

Can a teacher hit a child under his care?

I'm urgently seeking top medical experts to assess the damage done on my son.

  1. oh my goodness. The teacher hit him? I don't blame you and I would sure make a fuss at the school and with other officials too.

I hope he is okay. Walter, my hubby was always picked on by his teachers too.

He is 64 and the effects are still there.

I pray that doesn't happen with your son!!
    Hugs ECL!

  2. I know here in the states it wouldn't be allowed. No adult is allowed to assault a child.

    Prayers are being sent!

  3. I am so sorry to hear about this incident. I always thought that it happens between students, bully and such. Never thought a teacher would assault a student.

Hope James will have a speedy recovery... and you too, stay strong...

  4. Despite your son's pleas, this should have been stopped long ago, or more will happen, as it has. It is amazing that it is the teachers doing the assaulting and not students of a similar age.

  5. this is terrible! not only medical experts, you should talk to the police, too. teachers have no right to abuse a student. a few months ago, a teacher here beat a student's hand with a hammer! imagine that! i believe criminal charge was filed against the teacher. abusive teachers should see a therapist or go to jail.

  7. Ugh!
Punishment and assault are 2 different things that at different times and cultures blur and become confused.
Where I feel we have over extended the line in this country
to the point it is the teachers who can not teach, i know that in other places the line is still skewed in the wrong way.
I hope for justice in your and your sons situation.

  10. Kena abuse? And you aren't reporting? Aiyoh! But then, I agree kids would just want us to let it go, for fear of retaliation from the teachers and school, eh? :(

  11. I am very surprised this happens for quite a while without your knowledge.
Such crude bullying by the teacher must be properly documented and reported to the Ministry of Education as well as to the "Forum" page of the "TODAY" paper rather than to the "Straits Times".
I hope your son is recovering well from this ordeal.

  12. NO one has a right to hurt someone else, especially a teacher hurting his/her student whether physically or emotionally.

    Get some legal advise.

Sorry to hear about this. Hugs.

  16. Teacher assaulting student in Singapore? Of course, you should lodge a complaint! Whatever the reason, the teacher should raise the concern to the parents first.
Hope your son is recovering well from the assault, physically and emotionally.

  17. your son 's teacher's license should be revoked. he doesn't have the right to teach. i hope your son recovers well from the trauma he had experienced.

  18. prays for your son to get well soon.

the teacher should go to jail. how can such a person even begin to "nurture" the next generation?

  19. What kind of teacher is that? How can he/she remains teaching in the school? Your son is already 16+, why is hitting necessary? He/she has no rights whatsoever. Yes, get legal advice ECL. Kick the teacher out of the school.

  20. You must report this!! I thought this only happens in Chinese schools in Malaysia!

  21. That's unbelievable ! Teachers are not allowed to hit their students ! It is a shame ! I don't know what I would do in this case but certainly file a complaint !

  22. OMGoodness! Schools should be safe environments for all learners. Physical assault is a crime anywhere. I hope you have documentation, witnesses, and history of the teacher bullying that you are talking about.

Have you talked to the teacher about your concerns during parent teacher conferences? I hope you do get this issue resolved.

As a teacher myself, I am apalled.

  23. We saw on TV a basketball coach whipping his players. It was so sad, and some of the parents were aware of it.
Hope your son will be all right, and the teacher has their license taken away, forever!
Hope you have a nice weekend...

  25. A hundred years ago, when I went to school, it was premitted for the teacher or principal to spank a child. That is no longer allowed in the USA. Speak up for your son.

  26. OMG. I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope it isn't too bad.

That teacher has no right to teach at all.

  27. This is terrible, ECL!! Take all the necessary steps, such actions cannot just remain unpunished... Hugs to your son and you.

  28. This is awful ECL. When I was in school in the U.S., in the 50s and 60s, students were paddled. I once saw a teacher dig her fingernails into my friend David's arm. These days, in the U.S., at least, this happens less often. I still wonder how much underreporting occurs.

  29. How awful for him and you now that you know all about it. Why are people so mean to each other?

I hope all goes well ECL.

  30. That is an utter disgrace. I hope they throw the book at the teacher

  31. I have a simple answer. Find out where the bully of a teacher lives and visit him some dark night with a ski mask on and a cosh, and give him the beating of his life...that should make his see the error of his ways...

  32. I'm sorry to hear about James' ordeal. It's sad that teachers who are supposed to be the child's guardian angels in school turns out tone the devil themselves . James may have a point of keeping silent but if he doesn't learn to speak up for his rights the teacher per se will only take things for granted and gawd knows what extent of assault may land on James or any other innocent child. Try convince your child, keeping mum will not end the abuse but if he choose to speak up, it'll be an entirely different world for him tomorrow. You take care too ECL and speedy recovery to James.

  33. That teacher should be reported to the authority.

Thanks for dropping by. Oh... I have no idea too why people like alcohol, I can't stand the taste and smell too. I only had 2 sips and it's enough to make me itch.

    Take care.

  34. OMG! Sorry and surprised to hear that! I hope your son is getting better now. Justice need to be brought to the teacher! How can such thing be happening in school!

Take care ECL!!! Pray for you and son.

  35. Poor Jaymes. he must have gone through hell everyday. the teacher should have been charged.

  37. assault ? How old was ur son ? Hit by the teacher as in caning or wat? Complain to MOE, simple.

  38. When I was younger the principal was allowed to paddle. Times have changed. It is no longer allowed in the United States. I don't know about other countries. If I found out my child was hit at school I would freak out. And I would make sure the school board penalized the assaulter. I am so sorry this happened to you.
