Mother's Day in Singapore is so commercialized these days.
S$4 for a stalk of carnation!!
Mother's Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant. For bakers, florists and restaurant owners, they are happiest raking in the money. :PI'm a very proud Mom at the beginning of this month. My son has just handed me 50% of his first salary. hmmmm ..... I've still got a long way to break even. hehehe........
To all mothers,
Happy Mother's Day!

Hi ecl,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Mother's Day - u deserved it :-)
Good that ur son feels the responsibility to contribute into the family kitty. When I started out working, I gave all to my mom bec it was needed. I only took what I needed for bus fares n lunch. Those were the days !
I don't think moms get even; 50% is huge. I don't know what other mother gets that much from their kids' salary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day. Enjoy your day.
Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteBring me a slice of ur MD cake later okay? :)
ReplyDeleteI wish u and ur kids and hubby a nice day of celebrating YOU on ur special day... got flowers or not? ;)
ReplyDeleteHehehe a long way indeed, but we are all proud Moms! We are proud he's making his own money now, for example. I agree it is too commercial. We never shop gifts but a phone call is required, and I am a big fan of the breakfast in bed thing. Unfortunately my teens don't get up before noon, so I will settle for home made dinner.
ReplyDeleteDid you buy that cake with the money?
ReplyDeleteHappy mother's day ECL.
Well happy mother's day to you, commercialized or not!

ReplyDeleteYou're lucky that he hands you 50% of his pay. Some parents receive very much less than this %.
Happy Mother's Day!
Happy mother's day to you! I've told the kids never to buy me presents for any celebrations, just give me something homemade is appreciated till they earned their own money. So nowadays it's always cash they gave me! I'm not complaining though....lol
