Pointed Remarks Slung at eastcoastlife - Photohunt

Theme : Pointed

Brave Elizabeth Zhou baring herself to the public!

I was on my way to meet hubby for dinner at Suntec Convention Centre last night when I was accosted by promoters from a local beauty salon and slimming centre.

I was offered a quick 1-minute skin analysis. FREE! I took the bait..... turned out I stayed 2 hours getting pointed remarks slung at my direction! Hearing them criticised my face and body.... I was practically melting in shame.

Why didn't I leave? The normally hot tempered eastcoastlife would have chew their heads off!

I was fascinated with their promises of a younger looking and svelte body . *day-dreams......*

Brake!!! $$$$$$..... need lots of it. sigh......

From now until 27 July, you can watch 2 participants and a MediaCorp artiste go from flab to fab as they undergo slimming treatments in a furnished glass house which costs S$80,000 to construct.

Everyday, you will see chubby Elizabeth Zhou and Mary Lin exposed themselves as they undergo their treatments. I have never believed in slimming the passive way. So I shall watch them and wave as I pass them daily. :)

ok... I need money. Have to slave for the money to go for the treatments. Go! Go! Go eastcoastlife! (No more pointed remarks please!!)

  11. I guess every woman just dreams of having that perfect body. Sigh. Stupid fashion mags and ideal visions.

It's so cool you have your entry in chinese too! Is it like a special translation program or did you just translate it all by yourself? If it is the latter, I am in awe. :)

  12. Jasmine,
Yah... women can be vain no matter how smart they are. I'm also shallow. ^-^

The Chinese is literally translated from my English post. haha....

I have friends from Taiwan who couldn't understand a word the Babel fish thingy translates so I have to translate for them.

  13. Aiyo i seriously don't like pushy-promoters. But which promoters not pushy? @.@

    ReplyDelete

  23. Fun take on the theme. I don't put up with pointed comments from people trying to sell me something. I would probably say, I like having icky skin and loads of wrinkles, it gives me character.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I do not dare to do that.. hahaa

    ReplyDelete
  25. keeyit,

  29. Don't listen to them. You are beautiful as you are. They criticise you to make you believe you need their services. I am sure any gains made in the program disappear within a couple months of returning to your normal life. there is no miracle cure, except your beauty as it is.

    ReplyDelete
  30. you have the best pointies in singapore! no need treatment! give them your finger treatment if they dare you once more.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They'll say anything to get your $$$, so be very "pointed" about the fact that you are happy with the way you are now! Great take on the theme. Be sure to drop by and have a wonderful weekend. :D

  47. ECL - I read the fine prints "This is not a sponsored post". Ha ha ha.

Your experience reminds me of one time, my salon hairstylist asked if I wanted to have a quick check on my scalp. She used a machine that can see my scalp at the microscopic level. OMG, I saw oil oozing out and that was not the worst, the entire troop of hairstylists and staff were watching on the screen because it was close to closing hours and there were no customers around. So embarrassing!

Anyway, did you know that I got nominated by Ping.sg for a blog award on review?! Gosh ... *blushing*

    ReplyDelete
  48. I hate pointed remarks like that :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would love one of those cardboard cutouts. Then I could just park it at my desk and nobody would know.

Have some chocolate and relax ECL.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hmm... slimming online. Wow... It's gonna come to Malaysia anytime soon too.. haha

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh, what have they told you, ECL? And then they will charge a lot? Hmph! :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Nah, I never trusted this kinda of slimming procedures. Losing weight is not hard but maintaining it is a challenge. They're just money suckers.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hi eastcoastlife, you are invited to hop on to the TechnoFav train http://projectheavytraffic.blogspot.com/2008/07/technofav-train.html

In New York City, a girl can't walk down the street without those...

Thanks for visiting my Photo Hunt post. :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lol...this is why I stuck myself into going to the gym regularly...don't worry about the remarks, its just so for them to sell services. Happy weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  60. No, I wouldn't like pointed remarks like that, not at all. They really ought to be able to put their points across in a pleasant manner.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm sorry to say, I don't support you in the makeover thing. You are perfect as you are and I feel I get almost angry with people in beauty salons give advices that like. To me this is just commercialism and a way to monetize.

Remember, beauty comes from the inside and can't be bought with money!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Aha, they chose the wrong victim. They're trying to take the money from your pocket into theirs more than anything else. And I'm glad they failed.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm not sure whether I voted correctly and whether it counts.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Pointed remarks are very mean. I do not like when people are mean. Nice is better. But it doesn't sell as much product I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  65. im back here to vote for you and jaymes.

    cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would hate pointed remarks like that - I don´t think that could happen here in Sweden...
    Happy weekend!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  70. oceanskies,
There is some truth in what they said about my not taking care of my body and skin. I can take the truth. :)

I'm also verifying their claims... the things I do for blogging!! haha...

Thanks for loving me despite my flaws. :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm sorry to hear you were subjected to such criticisms. It's not exactly a kind of marketing scheme that I approve of. I think you look pretty as you are.

    ReplyDelete
