Very Special Arts Singapore

Very Special Arts Singapore Ltd (VSA) is a charitable organisation affiliated to the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) in Singapore & VSA Arts in the United States. VSA was launched in Singapore by Ambassador-at-large, Professor Tommy Koh, on 27th September 1993.

Its Arts for Livelihood & Employment (ALIVE) programme aims to offer lifelong learning & career opportunities for people with disabilities. Through the arts & arts-creation, it hopes people with disabilities will gain the skill & confidence that will enable them to find employment & independence.

VSA needs to raise S$500,000 to S$600,000 a year to run its programme.

It is holding an Art Exhibition at Centerstage, Marina Square, from now until Sunday (17th September 2006). The art pieces are for sale.

I'm particularly impressed by the beautiful art works done by autistic & down-syndrom children.

Please support a good cause.
