Who Pushed Humpty Dumpty? - WW

The queues for each criminal trial enactment 'Who pushed Humpty?' were so long that I gave up after queuing for 40 minutes. I wanted to see the interior of the spaceship-like Court of Appeal. I would live a life of regrets if I did not attend this trial enactment, so I begged my way into one of the sessions. :P

Crime scene

Who Dun it? What happened to Humpty? How did he fall? Was there foul play involved?

Visitors got the lowdown on who saw what and where at the ‘Who Dun it’ visual exhibition.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw our normally solemn Supreme Court transform into a carnival with weird characters being tried at its courts. Photography was allowed. Visitors could even take a photo of themselves in a judge's robe and wig.

The normally solemn Supreme Court has a carnival atmosphere

As we try to uncover the truth of ‘Who Pushed Humpty?’, we met the line-up of motley suspects : Big Bad Wolf, Blind Mouse Satu and Little Red Riding Hood. There was a Detective Tan Coo Coo . :)

Who will face the long arm of the law? Is Big Bad Wolf really guilty?

We gained an insight into the events leading up to the fall, and read how the facts unravel as the criminal trial progresses.

We learn what takes place in the lead up to a criminal trial – the parties that are involved, the type of evidence that is adduced and how the judge arrives at his final verdict.

Identify the suspect

Little Red Riding Hood testifying

The criminal trial enactment took place in the largest courtroom within the Supreme Court – the Court of Appeal. Colourful 'witnesses' volunteered their versions of the “truth”. It was not only informative, it was a fun and entertaining trial.

This is a wonderful programme for the young and old as it is presented in a fun, interactive way. I learn more about our legal system; found out what some common misconceptions about the Courts are; witness what takes place during a court proceeding. I acquired some basic legal knowledge at the legal talks and enrich my mind by visiting the exhibitions!

Criminal Trial Enactment - 'Who Pushed Humpty?'
Date : 14 & 15 Mar 2009
Time: 30 minutes
Venue: Court of Appeal, Level 9

Verdict : Big Bad Wolf was acquitted because clumsy Humpty fell from the wall. :D

it is a fun outlook on the justice system. I bet it did make a lot of people participate and gain knowledge in the process instead of just serious exhibition and lectures. :)

sgshortstories,
What happened? How come cannot sign in blogspot?

Humpty Dumpty had a fall, not murdered. hehe....

mommawannabe,
I'm amazed by this cool event! The organisers did a fantastic job! They turn a boring theme into something so happening. Love it!

I was informed by friends whenever there are interesting events. :)

EastCoastLife said...

Dora,
Big Bad Wolf is not that innocent though, but he was not the culprit. :)

Surprisingly fun! I'm glad they can think out of the box.

So many people attended the Open House. Thumbs up!

Life Ramblings,
The whole Supreme Court was like a carnival. Never seen before. :)

Big Bad Wolf happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. haha....

Congrats! FC of my recent post. Wheee!

Got lah!
I put your avatar in this post. :)

Liza,
By making this into a fun-filled and interactive event, the visitors are attracted to the interesting talks, colourful displays and the opportunities to tour this high-security building. I treasure the photo taking opportunity. :)

EastCoastLife said...

Gagay,
Were you at school? There will be lots of opportunities to be FC here.

You admitted to pushing Humpty Dumpty off the wall!? Naughty girl!

Visitors enjoyed themselves at this cool event. :)

EastCoastLife said...

Lina,
I know you try hard. Thanks.
I must think of a reward system for all FCs.

EastCoastLife said...

Lina,
Yes, it was a fantastic job by the creative organisers. So different from the usual boring exhibitions. A great change and visitors have so much fun.

Visitors come by the bus loads and it was heartwarming to see young adults bringing their elderly parents and young kids to this event.

I wish there will be such an activity when you come with your boy for holiday.

Ah Pui Humpty Dumpty must have put on a lot of weight by following all your delicious food tips and outings here ECL.He must have had tons of that intruiging Chocolate Lava cake too!LOL!
Great article ECL.I'm sure we all wish we were there!
P.S - I hope Big Bad Wolf got compensated for mistrial.LOL!

EastCoastLife said...

Jean,
Yes, it's an accident. :D

Humpty Dumpty grew too fat and rounded, he rolled off the wall. hahaha.....

Wah! Mentioning that Chocolate Lava cake make me drool. I must go back for it again. :P

Too bad, Big Bad Wolf won't get any compensation, even for mistrial. hehe....

I hope they will hold another event like this again.... maybe on its 20th Anniversary? haha....

Mojo said...

Well given Humpty's tendency to roll around, I would have guessed it was an accident.

Nice job "cracking" the case ECL!

I think JSKit would be too complicated to use for my readers. :P

Many readers, including myself, are not online most of the time to continue a conversation.

There are two Jeans here. :)

The characters are entertaining and funny. I could not imagine such a thing happening in a solemn court room! But it did happen and it was meant to be educational.

EastCoastLife said...

Jean Chia,
The two-day event was attended by thousands of people and I believe they went away impressed.

I'm looking forward to more such events. :)

'Peacock feathers' don't have much significance in our customs.Lord Kishna wears them in his crown. 'Peacocks' are associated with the religion though.

What a fantastic exhibition - such a fun way to teach kids (and their grownups) about the legal system.

Irish singer-songwriter Tommy Sands has a song called "Humpty Dumpty Was Pushed" too :-).

Sukhmandir Kaur said...

Another case of blind justice. Call me a cynic, but they let the bad guy get away again and blamed the innocent. Did they bother to find out the reason for the fall? Perhaps a heart attack from being threatened by the Wolffff Gggrrrr... who very likely had his way with all that broken egg!
Another very entertaining blog :)
Happy WW
