Candy - Photohunt

Jaymes brought his little cousins to the games arcade and played the Candy Catcher machines. They came back with a huge bag of candies and some soft toys. It cost me more than S$100!! And I'm sure the dental bills would be more than that ........ :(

I was at the recent launch of France's leading brand of coffee, Carte Noire. There was a fashion show featuring designs by Paris-trained Cambodian designer, Romyda Keth. The models were candy for the eyes. :)

  7. barbara,
Yes... we have to distribute most of the candies to the neighbourhood children.

I hope their mothers don't come to me with their kids' dental bills. haha...

  8. julie,
The arcade is like a mini casino. The kids get addicted playing the machines for prizes.

When they hit a Jackpot, the machine has flickering lights and plays music, and handfuls of candies come tumbling out!

In order to get the more expensive candy, they keep feeding tokens (money) to the machine and before they know it, they had spent the money that I gave them. Duh!

  21. $100! Why not just go buy candy in a candy shop ? :P

  22. lol I never understood the rush of spending on those tokens to get tickets that are exchangeable for some goodies.

Might as well get it straight off the shelves for a fraction of that money.

But I guessed it's the kick isn't it? I am still traumatised after failing to get a softtoy for my girlfriend (now wife) when we were courting a decade ago... :p

  26. tigerfish,
Yalor. The young kids are not price conscious. They just want to have fun and didn't imagine that S$100 would buy a lot of sweets.

  28. ck,
You couldn't catch a soft toy for your girl friend then? You could buy it for a cheaper price! See, the attraction of the machine, even adult also not spared!
