ECL's Outdoor Bathroom - Weeekend Snapshot #9

Jacuzzi tub for alien? hehe.....

Besides shopping for Chinese New Year goodies, I also have to shop for furniture and bathroom fixtures for my new house.

I want to have an outdoor bathroom, where there will be no roof above it, with lots of green plants surrounding me when I shower. I dream of showering under the stars...... like Jane of the jungle. When it rains, I can save on water. kakaka......

But when it gets windy.......... how???? High above ground, with an ocean view. I cringe at the thought of myself crouching in the bushes, shivering as I try to wash off the soap suds and shampoo.......... it doesn't seem like a good idea after all.

Peeping Tom!? Nay. He would have to be Spiderman to do that. And which man in his right mind would want to peep at a flabby middle-aged woman who can throw a mean chopper? He had better go goggle for Hong Kong celebrity, Edison Chen's (陈 冠 希) sex scandal photos. tsk tsk tsk....

Example of an outdoor bathroom

Any one wants to make my dream come true? Give me some ideas for an outdoor bathroom.

  8. I would have built an exposed bathroom in my place too, in Malaysia, except I won't be around much, thus that's not a very good idea.. Anyway, I can always drop by to SIN for a frisky au naturale shower, right? *dreams of waterproof wheelchairs*

  11. a friend of mine has it enclosed in the middle of the house, so the only way to peep in is from the top! it also acts like an indoor garden, so lush, so green...

  12. U can have it indoors just with a huge glass window to give it that outdoor feel!

  13. And outdoor bathroom is a little out of my forte. One moon in the sky is enough! HA

  16. I have an award for you, Young lady! haha... Outdoor spa with a massage bed beside? Better choose a nice canopy to cover it. So that your skin won't suffer. hehe...

The only set back is you can't see the sky. But you can still see the surrounding views.

  17. Remember to collect the award before New Year ya...

  21. An outdoor rotemburo like the one I had in Japan would be really, really nice :)

But I would have to constantly worry about the odd bird flying pass who may possess 'excellent' aiming skills...

  22. That's a unique tub, to be sure. At first glance I thought it was a basket! Sounds like a dreamy bathroom you're designing.

  23. hmmmm..I will go with Angeles rectangle glass all around might be a good idea for that "glass wall, roof and door"..But please does use that alien tub that will mess up the whole thing..lol..

    ReplyDelete
  24. so you bought the alien bath tub/jacuzzi bo??

look very good! something to hold to if you cannot stand up?

    haha...

  25. I will send some stalkers in a helicopter over to make pictures of you soaping up in an open bathroom ! If you don't send me 10000000 €(this is blackmailing)

  26. Emm....that outdoor bathroom looks quite nice but I think quite hard to maintain leh. Imagine through out the year, those beautiful white river pebbles become yellowish and then those hair stuck in between....how about planting lots of fruit trees in a circle and then you can bath within. Can also eat fruit while bathing too! Hehehehe

  27. i must make friends with your contractors and slip in hidden cameras. :P

  28. I remember my friend telling me of an outdoor bathroom at a nature spa she went to.

I like the thought of taking a shower or relaxing in the tub under the stars. Perhaps, instead of being totally open, you can have some sort of sliding glass window top (if that's possible).

  30. wuah a dream come true...i once was in such a bathroom. it was huge and had a small open roof which could b closed by pulling a string.

  31. I actually have an outdoor shower on my deck because I wanted to shower amidst the plants. My deck wall is the privacy. However, it can only be used in the summer. I have to drain the pipes in the winter so they don't freeze. Problem is I didn't do it well enough one year and I have a leak in the hot water pipe. I can't afford to get it fixed so I only have cold water. Still nice to take a quick cold shower in the summer to get the dirt off me after gardening. Good luck with yours. Outdoor showers are great!

  32. you can have your outdoor bathroom, you need maybe a sliding door if the weather is bad so you can close it in and what angeles says a retractable glass roof if it rains. hehehe..

  36. An outdoor bath...maybe it would be designed like it's in the outdoors. All plants and a glass roof so you can bath under the stars. :)

  37. Outdoor bathrooms are great! I've used them in South Africa, and also in Mauritius. Gives a very natural atmosphere, but you need to be able to relax, and not worry about who's going to be spying on you! :P

  50. love the sound of it!

i'd make it natural as it sounds. no concrete walls or modern furnitures. i want it to be traditional with lush greenery surrounding the bath.
