Christmas Toy Fairs - Weekend Snapshot 2

It's Princess Rosella and Prince Antonio....

I brought my young nieces and nephews to the well-known Orchard Road to shop for their Christmas presents. We had breakfast at ..... where else.... McDonald's. blekkk..... I would prefer dim sum but the kids rule that day.

There was a Toy Fair at Ngee Ann City Shopping Mall. The kids' eyes sparkled and they went wild. Every toy looked irresistible. They touched...., they watched....., they played......, they negotiated and pleaded for more toys than they were allowed to buy. I didn't give in or else they would buy the entire floor!

The boys were fascinated with this new Japanese toy called Treasure Gaust (S$39.90). In this game, players search for monsters known as "Gaust" which look similar to Pokemon or Digimon. The Gaust can be found anywhere..... in apartment buildings, shopping districts, and other places that one would not expect a monster to be lurking. The players spin themselves round and round with this hand held gadget ...... or shake it to detect a monster. Once they found one on their radar, they would wind a lever like crazy to bring it in. Jaymes got hooked too and bought one.
Detect the gausts and bring them in.....

Later we brought them to Raffles City where there was a Mattel Toy Fair. It was the last day of the live show, Barbie as the Island Princess. Princess Rosella is the latest edition to the Barbie doll line. Parents and their little girls packed the tiny place. Chris had to carry my nieces one by one so they could watch the performance. Jaymes brought the younger boys to the toy section.

The kids went home very happy. My purse was lighter at the end of the day...... sniff.... sniff.....

  3. Sounds like a fun weekend. I know your nieces and nephews enjoyed it. I'm with you in terms of preferring not to eat at McDonald's. It's not a very fun place for the adults to eat but they get you in by catering to the children. I hope you have a great week.

  4. tot's mom,
I can't help thinking about the money spent on toys and junk food. hahaha....

The kids were really happy and minutes before I reply your comment, my brothers called to chide me for buying their kid the toys.

The kids couldn't wait until Christmas and have started playing with their new toys and bringing the whole house down!!!

  14. LB,
    I'm so sick of Lormaikai!

After returning from Penang, Chris tried lormaikais all over Singapore. Almost every few days, we had lormaikais.

Because the wong siong loves lormaikais and he said he was coming to little red dot!

Left wait, right wait, no sign of him. I almost filed for divorce.

    Want a char siew bao?

Once in a while, eat at McDonalds is ok. I like their hot cakes.

All the kids and young people I know love to go McD. My son can have it for a week continuously!

  38. lzmommy,
When my son was much younger, every time when I ask him what would he like to eat. It's always McDonalds. Most of the time, he didn't eat the food, he just went for the toy! Ended up, I have to eat the burger and fries.

    Have a wonderful vacation, LZMommy!

  45. Hi, there! So sorry that it's only now that I was able to return the favor. I was advised by my gynecologist to rest completely due to threatened abortion. I've even asked my friends to do my paid postings for me since I can't come to the computer because I need to lie in bed for 2 weeks. Anyway, better late than never. Looks like the kids had a blast that day! Belated Merry Christmas and Advance Happy New Year! :-)
