I am definitely old....... sigh
I am having a terrible backache which forces me to seek medical attention. Due to the long waiting time until I see the specialist, I have signed up for acupunture sessions to relieve the pain. I refuse to take painkillers.
The long queue to see a specialist at a public hospital is so annoying.
Acupuncture does relieve the irritating pain for a couple of days and then it's back. I have never liked to have a needle stuck into me but now at each acupuncture session, I have a dozen of them sticking in my neck, back, legs and even my head. Ouch!

The needles look scary to me!!
Did the acupuncture help alleviate your back pain, ECL? Take care.
May you feel better soon.
i once considered acupuncture due to recurring headache. but i couldn't find a reputable acupuncturist nearby. about your backaches, have you tried Vitamin B Complex? yoga can also relieve the pain.
is acupuncture painful?
hope you are fine.
I hope you get better soon. Back pain is awful. :(

my leg pain healed by only one session. I hope your back pain will go away soon♥
Horsoon,
They are scary! I dread to go for these acupuncture treatment. :P
Lina,
It helps for two days and then the pain is back. I suspect I have a slipped disc.
Oh well, have to wait for the specialist's appointment.
Thanks, oceanskies.
Luna miranda,
I have been taking Vitamin B complex. I hope yoga can help.
daisy,
When the needles are stuck in, it felt like ant bites. It's the turning of the needles that hurt. :(
After a while, I feel numbness.
Thanks, wenn.
Niki,
Your pain went away after only one session!? That's great.
Thanks Sandee. I hope to get well too.
Poor you, get well soon! even young people have back pain ;-) I have used acupuncture for my tennis arm and sore joints.

Oh, dear: comment moderation AND word verification??
I've heard lots of good things about acupuncture but i'm so afraid of the needles. you're so brave ECL. hope you get better soon.
Oh, poor you ! I know what backaches are, it's like if somebody turns a sword in your back. I started Yoga and that helped, and now I am backache free, but of course it depends what you have. Acupunture is always good !
Hi ECL I hope you feel better soonly! I don't blame you for not wanting to take the painkillers, and I hope the acupuncture is helping! IT helped my sister a lot when she was suffering a pinched nerve in her neck.
Mar,
I am definitely getting old with this backache and nowadays I doze off whenever I watch any TV programme! :(
Sorry about the word verification and comment moderation.
Life Ramblings,
Acupuncture does help ease the pain a little, but I think my backache is more complicated.
Gattina,
hmmm.... looks like I would have to try yoga as well.
My backache would be that bad. :(
Hope my apointment to see the specialist can come sooner.
Sue,
Thanks for your concern. Acupuncture does help a little for my pain, I need to do some stretching exercises too. Good that I have a good physician.
I'm sorry you are in pain. I hope it can improve.
I don't think I could do that.

Ouch! that hurts!
I've never try acupuncture before, looks painful to me! The husband had slipped disc once, went for specialist treatment and therapy. Now he has to be careful not to put too much pressure on the back especially when lifting heavy objects. So far so good, no more pain.
I had shoulder pain for a long time and the chiropractor discovered I had bad posture. Could it be that and not because of age? Get well soon!
Hi! I just came across your blog and noticed this post! Haha! I've been having upper back aches for a couple years now but never bothered doing anything with it. I wonder if acupuncture helps. Oh well. Cheers. :) Hope you feel better!
Oh dear, how are you now? That's quite an ouchie for me. I had accupressure massage the other week with suction cups...it was painful but took out much stress on my back.
