National Day Parade 2014 - WW

Singapore celebrated its 49th National Day with a terrific parade and spectacular fireworks. More than 2,000 people participated in 35 marching contingents.

MM Lee Kuan Yew received the loudest cheers from the audience and a standing ovation when he arrived at NDP 2014.

It was a brilliant National Day parade with awesome performances.

8 participants from Minds - the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore performed on the taiko drum. It was their first time performing at the National Day parade.

The SAF Red Lions parachute team revealed the first female Red Lion parachutist, Third Warrant Officer Shirley Ng.

Dynamic Defence Display by the SCDF, Army, Navy, Air Force and Police Force. An impressive performance, showing off their capabilities and equipment.

My parade favourites : Red Lions parachute team, State Flag Flypast (note the Chinook and the two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters), F15SG Fly Past, 21 Guns Presidential Salute and the fireworks.

National Day Parade 2014 will be the last one at the floating platform as the event moves to the Padang next year and to the Sports Hub in 2016.
