Global Entrepreneurship Week 2008

During 17th - 23rd November, millions of young people around the world will celebrate and promote innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity. Together with 54 other countries, Singapore is taking part in its first Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Lee Yi Shyan will launch the Global Entrepreneurship Week on 18 Nov at HDB Hub, from 3.00 pm to 4.30pm.

Global Entrepreneurship Week aims to inspire young people to seek better ways of doing things and to think big. They can turn their ideas into reality and make their mark. It hopes to engage young people in school, at home, on the web and at work.

Activities include a camp that exposes children to the world of business by providing them with the basic idea of what running a business is about.

Children these days are so lucky, are taught entrepreneurship too! I wish I could be taught this subject when I was young as being paid employees in static organizations where employers determine how much you are worthm what is your worth and when to increase your pay can sometimes be sad :(

Singaporean youths who have entrepreneurial inclinations should be encouraged to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Oh cool. While I wish we had such things back in my school days, I am also a little reserved about all these focus on money-making. On the path to creating wealth for our nation, the fear is that we lose the ability to see the need for morals and integrity.

Hi ECL!
It is not more important than inspiring those with a dream. Teaching Entrepreneurship is more like helping one make his dream into reality!

I've heard about it and think there is a Norwegian team partisipating too.

Wishing you a great end to your week and if you have the time, your welcome over to celebrate with me :-)

Thanks for the mention. I didn't know of the Global Entrepreneurship Week until I read your post.

I hope these entrepreneurs-to-be would one day contribute positively to the society when they succeed.
