For a immediate study (starting early Jan 2008), a company is recruiting soft contact lens wearer who are:
- Above 21 to 40 years of age
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding (for female subjects)
- Wearing contact lens with prescription range from -1.00 Diopters (100 degrees) to -5.75 Ds (575 degrees), with astigmatism not higher than 100 degrees.
- With no eye complication or problems.
- Must be available for eye examinations on the scheduled visits.
Subject is required to wear the lens continuously for up to one month.
The subjects are arranged by appointment at their convenient time to a detail eye examination, subjects will then be able to wear the lens back, after they are found to be suitable.
They need to return the next day, for an eye examination, to see if everything is fine for them. They will then continue to wear the lens, and returned in a week's time for the 3rd visit. If everything is ok, they will return after 2 or 3 weeks later, for the final analysis, and to return the lens.
The subjects will be given some questionnaires for their feedback.
All the eye examinations and supplies will be provided free of charge. Should any complication occur they will be referred to ophthalmologist, and all charges will be paid by the sponsor.
Each subject will be given transport allowance of S$40 per visit, and S$50 on their final visit.
If any of your friends are interested, they may email me to provide their details.

Another study is also looking for volunteers who are J&J Acuvue 2 wearers or J&J Acuvue Oaysis wearer. The survey will start in late Feb or earlier this year. They can also email me with their details.
This survey is available to Singaporean residents only.
This is not a sponsored post, it is a service provided by eastcoastlife. hehe....

Sorry.. over age.. ;)
Doreen,
The continuous wear contact lens (sleeping with lenses on) are not for everyone.
During the initial visit, the subject will be screened for suitability. Subjects with previous complications or medical conditions, or patients with dry eyes, will not be suitable.
Subjects are also closely monitored, should there be any risk to a subject, it will be discontinued.
The lenses were approved by FDA for use as continuous wear for not more than 30 days and marketed since Year 1999. They are made of silicon hydrogel material with oxygen permeability of more than 3 times of normal contact lenses, higher than the value in a normal eyes closure condition during our sleep.
The study lenses are working towards the improvement of better comfort for the wearer, without compromising its safety.
hijackqueen,
The survey would probably be done in Malaysia later part of this year. Will let all my Malaysian kaki bloggers know first.
