Amazing! Sweet deals for being a great blogger? I was given a brand new LG Shine cellphone a week before its launch, and invited to events and functions. hehehe......
I received an invitation to an exclusive Bloggers Breakfast event by Philips Electronics. It was held at the Corduroy Cafe, Vivocity. Selected bloggers were treated to a scrumptious breakfast and given an insight into the next generation of gaming and movie experiences. I brought Jaymes along and the organisers graciously welcome him.
Co-incidentally my hubby and I were looking into a new Home Theatre System for our new house. Chris is crazy over audio systems. Having his shop in The Adelphi, which is the place to go if you are looking for hi-end audio system in Singapore, he gets to meet similar enthusiasts and also information on the latest sound system. The Adelphi is home to more audio dealers than all of New York City and New Jersey combined! Just his luck to marry a wife who dislike music! hehehe.....
I am not a technical or IT person, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to such topics. But seeing with my own eyes the new range of Philips Full HD Flat TVs with Ambilight and hearing its kick-ass Ambisound Home Theatre system gives me the goose pimples!
Said to reduce eye strain, the Ambilight technology also makes TV viewing more enjoyable by projecting background lighting from the rear of the Flat TV unit onto the wall that changes colour with different onscreen pictures. Cool!
To me the picture quality looks good. Jaymes remarked that the tracks of the animated car racing game seen on the Philips HDTV looks so real........ so natural looking.
Philips Ambisound technology, the HTS8100 Ambisound SoundBar is a Singaporean innovation, developed at the Philips Innovation Campus in Singapore. Made in Singapore!! So proud leh! It allows us to enjoy a 5.1 surround sound performance without multiple speakers or messy wires. A DVD player and 5 amplifiers are integrated into a single sleek horizontal sound bar. So space saving! So stylish! So lustful!
Please google for more info or go to the nearest Philips dealer for a demo.
Caution : Irresistible.
Most important question on everyone's mind now.

That's the problem with electronics and computers.... we cannot keep up with new developments!
yenjai,
You think so too.
Chris was looking at one high-end audio sound system which cost
S$40,000. I've put it on KIV. This Philips set is cheap and good. I shall try to find out more before making the purchase. ^-^
stay-at-home Mom,
Wah! Big ticket item leh.
Later they will get addicted to it. How to spend quality time together if they are glued to the TV most of the time!?
My angel,
Yah... sexpensive! Send the pic? hehe....
day-dreamer,
It is nice. They will enjoy it very much! I don't watch a lot of TV.
kyh,
My hubby truly enjoys the home theatre system. I don't share his interest. hehe....
I'm a practical person. Some said cold and calculating. haha.....
niki-chan,
Yes, this Philips home theatre system is gorgeous! Why call me madam? Because I call the shots! hehe....
wah.. your home entertainment system is soooo pro-looking.
Hehe... my hubby is also another audio system fanatic, but not as pro looking as yours.
Wow..!! so lucky..!! i wanna be famous blogger too..!! give some tips.. please..!
malaika's mummy,
Oh... your hubby too? hehe....
That's my hubby's home entertainment system. I don't know how to play with it. I watch my Korean hunks on it only. See them huge on the screen. kakaka....

Renny,
The breakfast was good, the organisers did a good job. The staff from Philips know their products well, they were helpful.
From the number of top executives present at this breakfast meet, Philips truly sees bloggers as another important platform of advertisement - word of mouth.
I was given a press kit.
It's a great experience. My hubby is seriously checking out the system. lol.....
My hubby would love this! But very ex leh... I rather we spend the money on holiday :)
lz mommy,
Most men I spoke to would love this! hehe....
We ladies have different ideas on spending large sum of money. I prefer to spend the money on a family trip too. My guys just hate walking, shopping and taking photos while on vacation. sigh......
errrr... you use that money and buy me a return business class trip from Sydney to KL, stopover Singapore instead... can ah?
Hmm, I wonder if your hubby secretly hopes that he is a great blogger so that he would be invited for the Bloggers Breakfast event instead?
expensive christmas present! With that home theatre system, who want to go out for movie?
May,
Wah! sum tong (heartache)!!
I'm a practical person, I don't like to spend on luxury items, even though I have the means. hehe.... stingy!?
If I use the money to buy an economy-class air ticket, I can have more money left for shopping.
oceanskies,
He wanted to tag along too but as he had an appointment, he had to go to the office. Lucky! Had he come, he would surely buy it!
Chris does not think with his head when it comes to spending. That's why I have to be the Finance Minister at home. haha....
Doreen,
With the home theater, we usually watch DVD movies at home. We have friends who would pass us their DVDs after watching them.
We don't normally pay for movie tickets. We get free tickets time to time from sponsors and business clients.
